KCL Solutions provides a range of services across Ireland.

We are a service partner for a large property management company based in Dublin and Galway, providing service and repair to heat pump systems and heat recovery units. 

We also provide oil boiler service, repair and installation for two large maintenance companies in Co Galway.

Finally, we also provide servicing and repair for all commercial boilers an d catering equipment for a large heating company based in Co Galway.

My journey started in 1987, with servicing school oil boilers in Norfolk and Suffolk (UK). I soon gained certification in oil pressure jet burners, advanced fault finding and heating controls. From this I went onto becoming OFTEC registered in the UK for many years. As part of my training I also began installing full heating systems, sealed and open-vented, along with commercial pump sets and controls.

Following a successful career in oil, in 1999 I began courses for certification in gas works (CORGI). I soon became certified for domestic gas safety, cookers, LPG, and heating appliances. At the same time, focusing on gas fires and fireplaces (Heatcraft Anglia Ltd).

In early 2000, I also became a registered 'stovie' by becoming a HETAS registered engineer, specializing in many aspects of stove and flue installations. Eventually, becoming Chairman of SOLIFTEC (Solid Fuel Technology Institute) as well as Technical Advisor for the National Fireplace Association (NFA). During those years I also investigated cases of CO poisoning and thatch fires.

In 2006, I moved to Ireland and took on the position of Maintenance Manager for the Marine Institute, Oranmore. I took this opportunity to learn more about the workings of laboratories, especially positive/negative air, and gas detection systems.

In 2020, I started to learn more about gas detection systems and began installing them in various restaurants and hotels across Co Galway and Co Mayo. At the same time, I also began becoming more involved in commercial gas, eg catering equipment, where I then went onto servicing more and more appliances.

My final step has been into heat pumps and heat recovery systems, including completing Level 6 Heat Pump and attending various manufacturer training.

I now look forward to the future - who knows where it shall lead next.
