Gas Detection
Gas detection systems, like GasGuard, are fitted into commercial kitchens which depend on mechanical means for the supply of air. This supply of air is particularly important for the correct combustion and cooling of gas appliances.
If the supply air fan was to fail then this unit will safely turn off the gas supply to the appliances, thus preventing causation of incomplete combustion.
The unit also monitors the gas pressure within the supply side of the main gas valve, if the monitor detects a drop in pressure then the slam shut is activated, again rendering the gas supply safe until a repair is made.
The system allows for the many gas detectors, the one in the photo is an LPG-rated sensor.
You can also fit CO detectors to the same system, meaning that you protect your kitchen from incomplete combustion, leaking gas, and CO - it really is a no-brainer.

Product Overview
The GasGuard gas proving system is designed to meet the requirements of IGEM/UP/11 Edition 2 for educational establishments and is a BS6173:2009 and IGEM/UP/19 compliant ventilation interlock.
The GasGuard is ideal for when appliances are not fitted with flame failure devices, or can be used to provide additional peace of mind when they are.
With a backlit LCD, the GasGuard will provide a clear indication of any issues with external devices such as ventilation systems, and will provide details of gas pressures and Gas Sensor levels.
